Aromatherapy Really Works!!

Okay so its been a long time since my last post...about a year lets say. Thats because I've been busy enjoying the little things in life and haven't had a chance to write about it. There is so much to write about but not enough time in a day to blog. That being said something happened the other night and I thought 'I've got to blog about this one'.
Do you ever wonder about aromatherapy and if it really works? I definitely do and know that certain oils work miracles...for example Lavender, tea tree oil and Eucalyptus. These I use often. But just recently I've discovered the magic of Orange oil.
Here I am in Halifax performing in the Jungle Book and with no understudies or swings there is no getting sick and missing a show. I've been a little under the weather and the room I sleep in is pretty dry (which doesn't help) so I purchased a Sunbeam humidifier with a medicine cup. The first night I put Eucalyptus oil in the medicine cup and it worked miracles...I slept like a baby and woke up less congested. The second night for some reason I couldn't get the cap off the bottle of my Eucalyptus oil, (damn child proof caps) so I used the next best thing I had which was also good for coughs, colds and bronchitis...'Orange Oil!'. I found myself tossing and turning and full of energy. Although the room smelled fantastic I just couldn't seem to relax enough to get some sleep so I picked up my journal and began to write. 10pgs later I thought maybe I should shut the humidifier off. After doing that I picked up my Aromatherapy book and read a little more about orange oil. I discovered that it inspires creativity which is why I was full of energy, which is also what inspired me to write this entry. So all you artists and creators out there, if your in need of some creative inspiration then get yourself some orange oil and a diffuser. Its one of the best aromatics. It mixes well with many essential oils, has a variety of therapeutic uses and is inexpensive to keep on hand.
